Dementia Friendly Cinema Screenings…

UPDATE – February 2021

After due consultation with the residential carer`s and families of people living with dementia we have decided with some regret to close down the Dementia Friendly Film Screenings event at the Parkway Cinema and theatre in Beverley.

The continuing uncertainty regarding the future outcome of the current health crisis and the paramount need to safeguard the health and emotional well being of the elderly and more vulnerable in our local community has persuaded us to make this difficult decision at this time.  However, it is anticipated that when the cinema is allowed to open again, and it is safe to do so, it will be possible on a limited first come first served basis, for individual care homes and families to make bookings for small groups to attend films alongside the Senior Citizens sessions on a Thursday morning. This will be confirmed at a later date.

We would like to thank all those people who have attended the very popular cinema events in recent years and enjoyed the friendly social gatherings. It has been my pleasure to organise this project alongside our dedicated volunteers.

Please keep an eye on our social media and the DFER website for news of other activities that will be organised in the future. Thank you.
